I created a black rectangle shape and want to have white text in the black rectangle. I inserted the shape and chose black shape fill. I then used a text box, wrote the text and chose text fill white. I can see the white lettering over the black rectangle but when I try to print it I only see the black rectangle. The white text has disappeared. I am not sure how to fix the problem.
Hi Tania,
When you create the shape and fill it in, you can actually type directly into the shape without the need for a Text box.
I just tested it out and the black box with text directly into printed out correctly.
The shape with a text box inserted into it, did not print the text.

If it’s inside a PowerPoint template then they will get a prompt that the font is not available and that font will display differently, in a PDF it won’t be an issue. In things like Photoshop it will ask you if you want them to replace the font.

Hi,
The Google Fonts are under the Creative Commons License and they have an FAQ page here: https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq
So they are an Open Source Software.
Hope that helps.

What happens if I use a font that the person using my planner does not have installed on their computer? Will they be able to see it?

Thank you Sue! All these years and I’ve never known how to install a font. Now I’ve installed two. YAY!
Wonderful, it’s one of those things that is easy once you know how!

Hi Sue, I can’t find the licencing information for the Google fonts in the video above.
Can we use them for free only on the web or also in printed planners?
