Hi Sue, I’ve got Powerpoint 2007 (I have an old free Microsoft Windows) and was thinking I’d have to pay to update, but someone in another group kindly mentioned that you can use a newer online version for free at this link https://www.office.com/launch/powerpoint?ui=en-US&rs=US… .
I’ve logged in with my Microsoft account and It certainly looks a lot better! I’m still working my way round it (it uploads things to OneDrive so don’t know how that goes). I just wondered if It might help someone else in the same situation.

Thanks for the link I can’t remember if that is the full version of PowerPoint or if it has some limitations. Let me know how you get on with it, as it could be helpful for others.

Hey Sue! Great course thus far. I’ve been able to follow along easily but I do have one quick question.
On the Insert tab my Symbols are greyed out. I can’t seem to figure out how to insert a copyright – or any other – symbol.
Thank you and glad you are enjoying the course.
When you insert a symbol you need to be inside a Text box or Shape, this will open it up so you can insert the copyright.
So add your Copyright text first and then do the Insert and you should be good.
If not please do a screenshot and I will help you figure it out.
That worked and answered my question. Thank you for your prompt response to my question:)

Sorry, scrap that. I moved forward and played video from next section, the sound was fine so I came back and the sound was mysteriously there! Gremlins no doubt.
Good to know the sound came back, am just going through all the videos so hopefully there are no issues.
Thanks and enjoy.

I just wanted to say thank you. I have never been big on PowerPoint but I pay for MS each month and I am only beginning your course and I already feel like I am finally getting value for what I pay for each month with them. I am so happy to be learning more PowerPoint and creating my journals. Looking forward to the rest of the course.
Thank you and glad you are enjoying the course, we are working on some updates this month as well.

After doing the title, subtitle, and uploading an image I realized that I needed to find out how to do it as a portrait instead of landscape. Wouldn’t it have been better to use portrait as the example since that’s what journals and planners are? And yes, I found out how in the help section of PowerPoint.
I think this course will finally end my procrastinating about creating the journals/planners because you are taking away my excuse and ending my confusion. Thank you Thank you.
Hi Marie, I will have to go in and look at that portion and make the changes. Changes are made using the Design, Slide Size, Custom size pop up box.

I’m just getting started, but you mentioned your making adjustments as you go due to comments so
I thought I would just add a suggestion. It’s probably my bad eyes, but it would be nice if your pointer has a halo or glow around it (I’ve seen this on some videos) so it’s easier to follow the cursor as you teach. Thank you so much for course! I’m excited to dig in.
Thanks Heidi for that suggestion, I have seen that too and not quite sure how they do it, I will look into it.
